Synopsis

It is 1895. Jack Worthing wants to propose to Gwendolen Fairfax his friend' Algy's cousin. When Jack reveals to Algy he has a young ward, Cecily, Algy is determined to meet her despite Jack's reluctance for him to do so. Algy is very cunning and manages to meet her and immediately falls madly in love with her. Sadly both of their ambitions are fraught with problems. Jack has to overcome Lady Bracknell's objections to his being found in a 'handbag'!!!'. Algy has to overcome Jack's refusal to give his consent. Enter Miss Prism!!
